zcash · 999 editions · fully on-chain

The smallest unit of cool on Zcash.

999 z4ts, drawn on a 24×24 grid and written onto Zcash. A few hundred bytes each, no servers, no links that rot, and owners nobody can look up. Quiet colours, few traits, nothing to prove.

Every pixel accounted for.

Each z4ts is a stack of fixed-colour layers, drawn once and never stretched. Pull one apart and every pixel belongs somewhere.

    the collection

    Six kinds, one grid.

Most are z4ts. Some are machines, some came back, a few came from further away. Nine were set by hand.

    traits

    Few things, worn well.

Thirty accessories in black, white, cream, gold and silver, and never more than two colour families on one z4ts.

    The Nine.

One of ones, set by hand. The generator never deals them, and each keeps something no other z4ts has.

    privacy · the zcash way

The art is public. The owner is not.

On most chains a PFP is a name tag: click it and anyone can see the wallet behind it, what it paid and everything else it holds. z4ts are made for Zcash, where that part stays yours.

    • Seen by all.All 999 images are written onto Zcash in the open, with their traits and the supply. Anyone can check every pixel.
    • Held in the shade.Every z4ts is held as a shielded note: who holds one, how many and for how much stay off the public record.
    • Shown when you choose.Wear it as your avatar and say nothing more. To prove it is yours, share a viewing key with whoever you choose, and only them.
    • Open books.Privacy is for holders, not for the team. No blind auction: the price, the 999 supply and the mint count are public from the first block.
    plainly

Ownership will be shielded, never transparent inscriptions that put every holder on the public record: as Zcash shielded assets once they reach mainnet, or as shielded Orchard notes, which work today. The images stay in the open, so every pixel can still be checked.

    questions

    Asked quietly.

    Anything else: @z4tspfps on X.

    What is z4ts?

999 pixel characters on a 24×24 grid: 990 dealt by the generator and nine one of ones set by hand. The name is said “zats”, like the smallest unit of ZEC.

    Which chain?

Zcash. Each z4ts is written on-chain as its own PNG, a few hundred bytes of pixels, and held as a shielded asset.

Can anyone see that I own one?

No. The images, the traits and the supply are public, but z4ts are held in shielded addresses, so who owns which one, and what they paid, stays private. If you want to prove yours, you can share a viewing key with the people you choose.

    When is the mint?

Soon. Follow @z4tspfps for the date and the price.

    How rare is mine?

z4ts 85%, Robot and Zombie 13%, Alien and Mascot 2%. Every trait has its share, and every z4ts gets a rank when the explorer lands.

    What is the game?

Pairs, the memory game, played with z4ts: flip two cards at a time and match every pair before the clock runs out. There are three levels, and hard deals look-alikes from one coat family. When you finish, or the clock wins, you can download your result as an image. This mockup keeps your best scores in your own browser and collects nothing.
